Premieres! Premieres! Premieres!
|
Ok, so through Women In Film and Gofobo I have been balancing my normal life with fabulous red carpet premieres at least every other week. It's like living in Cannes during the festival all over again; starting off the day in my regular work clothes then making a quick change into the little black dress and heels at night. Fun, fun, fun!
So I was at the LA premiere of 4 Christmases, on Nov 20th, and I saw Reese Witherspoon on the red carpet in her cute little navy dress and flipped up hair-do and I was like OMG, I just walked past one of my favorite people of all time! I mean I've been a fan since Man in the Moon, ok?! (That movie still makes me cry) Free popcorn and soda and Reese, plus the movie was flippin hilarious, I was in heaven, it was a great night. I also saw Sissy Spacek and a few other actors from the film. It was my first time at the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater and I must say it was very elegant. There are 2 parts to the red carpet; the side the actors walk where they do their interviews and a parallel carpet behind them where press and everyone else walks in, so you?re walking right along side the stars just separated by those heavy theater rope dividers and a few security personnel. Screaming fans were lined up across the street. And once I got inside, I thought there was a balcony, but nope, the stars are right there on the same floor watching the movie with everyone else.
On Dec 11th, I had the privilege of seeing the movie Marley & Me. This movie just made you want to buy a puppy so badly. The pickles this dog got into, the trouble he caused, that unconditional love a pet gives you even when you?re scolding them for eating most of your house, just priceless. The fact that it?s a true story just makes it even more touching. This premiere was at the Mann Theater on Broxton Ave in Westwood, so a little closer to home for me. John Mayer, was walking the carpet and giving his interviews before Jenn arrived. I saw the dog who played Marley, the kids from the movie, Alan Arkin, and Grey's Anatomy's Eric "McSteamy" Dane, who is also in the film. And yes ladies, he is too tasty for words. J I, unfortunately, missed Owen Wilson because I needed to grab dinner before the show, but I saw Jennifer Aniston on the red carpet in a hot little black dress. And in true sweetheart form, she jumped the theater rope dividers on the red carpet to go over to her fans and touch their hands. They went wild! I totally love her.
This Wednesday I will be going to the premiere of Yesman starring Jim Carrey. The trailers on tv have been cracking me up so I know I'm going to have a great time. I had tickets for the premiere at Grauman?s and
Broxton Ave, but I?m sticking close to home and giving the Hollywood tix to a close friend. I hope he?s at both. The only thing that I don?t like about the
Broxton Avetheater is that there are actually 2 theaters next to each other that make up the premiere site, and most of the general public watches the movie on one side, while the stars of the movie watch on the other, which lessens the experience a bit. So I have to get in early so I can be on the right side. Will tell y?all how it went. Love and hugs and God?s Blessings.
